A combination of the biggest fall training in years, and being short two volunteer HDC staff, has meant that HDC staff are feeling the strain. But “too many” participants is a good problem to have. “I’m all for big trainings,” center administrator Chris Epp says with a smile.
The group is so large (36 are being commissioned) that HDC has rented another house for seven of the guys. A number of staff from Eastern Mennonite Missions’ Central Administrative Offices in Salunga, Pa., helped to paint in the rental house, clean up HDC, and do other necessary tasks to prepare for the full training.
This was in response to a desperate plea from Chris – to all EMM staff, to alumni via Facebook. “It’s been so encouraging to see this response,” Chris says. “That’s when you see the Body coming together.”
