We remember how God built character in the Belize STAT team. This summer the team served the Belizean Church by sanding church benches by hand. Through the monotony of their task, God began showing them the parallel to their own lives. He wanted to strip away their old selves, all the old attitudes and junk, and replace them with his character and goodness.
We remember God’s protection over the many individuals and teams that have traveled this year. DM sent out seven YES teams and four STAT teams, plus mission interns and GO teams, and each arrived safely on location.
We remember God’s faithfulness in the unexpected death of a close friend and colleague. Bonnie Deyhle, along with her husband Cameron, had served on staff at the Harrisburg Discipleship Center for a year after their own short-term experience through Brethren in Christ World Missions, one of our partner organizations. While on staff, they sensed the Lord calling them to serve in India long-term. Then after less than a month into their long-term service, we received the news that Bonnie had passed away quite unexpectedly. This experience left many of us with more questions than answers. But though that was a hard season for DM, we have seen and continue to trust the Lord’s faithfulness.
We remember God’s protective hand on the life of Laurie Keener, a 2005-2006 YES team leader. While on assignment to Cambodia earlier this year, she was diagnosed with Dengue Fever and had to be flown to Thailand for treatment. During two days in the intensive care unit and another week in the hospital, God remained faithful. God brought her to full recovery, and Laurie became well enough to return to Cambodia to finish her YES assignment, grateful for the things the Lord had done.
Without your support, both through prayers and finances, this year would have turned out much differently. But we still need your help for this year! Our goal is to raise $50,000 for our 2006 Transforming Lives campaign. We believe that he will make a way and provide for our financial needs. Would you consider joining with us?
Thank you for your continued prayers and support. Merry Christmas!
In Christ,

Director of Discipleship Ministries
