Meet Andy Hock
Written by Linda Moffett - EMM staff writer

Andy HockHarrisburg Discipleship Center is not an unfamiliar place to Andy Hock, Harrisburg Discipleship Center’s new Operations Manager.  Andy has spent time at the center as both a volunteer staff member and as a participant in YES team training.

In fact HDC holds some happy memories for Andy who met his future wife Cheryl (Derksen) there when they both were on staff together.  Andy says he knew “long before” Cheryl did that he wanted to marry her. Cheryl also works at EMM – serving as both executive assistant to the president and development assistant.

Andy grew up in Boiling Springs, Pennsylvania, and attends Mechanicsburg Brethren in Christ Church. He enjoys the outdoors, playing pick-up volleyball at church, building “stuff” and “slowly remodeling a dated house.”

Most recently Andy worked in construction before becoming Operations Manager in October. In this role he oversees facilities and maintenance, special events, and organizes Kingdom Teams and community relations.

“The best part about working at EMM is seeing the passion for missions,” Andy said. “It is great to have the opportunity to ignite that passion even further in young people. I love seeing the transformations that occur as people go through training.”

“The hardest part of my job is trying to do my best to fix and maintain everything without spending very much,” Andy said smiling. “In fact, if you know of anyone who has money and wants to donate it to us …..”
