In the past few years, we refined our vision to focus on what we consider to be God’s call for us in this season: to catalyze Jesus movements among the least-reached; in places where there are very few Christians. We’ve specified some particular areas of the world that we want to focus on: Central Asia, Southeast Asia, Central Europe, and West Africa. We are actively recruiting people to go to these regions and serve in incarnational witness. We’re very thankful to report that within the last year God has provided new workers for each of these areas, some of whom are already on location and others still in process. We rejoice in that and pray for more! And we celebrate the fruitful work that current EMM workers are doing all over the world. Some of you support and pray for these workers — thank you very much! But sending people is not the only thing we do, nor the only way to catalyze movements. For a task this important, we want to utilize every tool in our tool belts. One way we do that is through training and equipping, both for our local church constituency and for our global partners. It’s also what we do every week with our new neighbors in Lancaster, as they learn English and other skills at Neighbors Community Center. Training and equipping are central to our core value of multiplication. When asked why he started Moody Bible Institute, D.L. Moody said, “No one is so wisely employed as he who multiplies the doers. I would rather lead ten men to the work than do the work of ten men.” To catalyze movements, EMM also invests in multiplying the doers, so that every disciple of Christ is also a disciple-maker.

Here are a few testimonials about some of the ways we are training and resourcing people around the world:

Kairos

“The Kairos experience gave me a renewed commitment to the global mission task and a fresh understanding of the great privilege we have to be part of it. It’s challenging, inspiring, and potentially life-changing.” — A Kairos participant

Kingdom Teams

This was a well-rounded, deep, well-organized week. I’ve been on many missions trips- this one had a little bit of something for every personality. We had many great discussions with staff and students.” — A Kingdom Teams participant (youth leader)

Advance

“I feel this is where God has called me and I am reassured this is the place I need to be for this season. As I have been stepping into and continue to step into leadership roles that stretch me, pray that God would give me the words to speak as I lead, mentor, and disciple.” —Lena Kauffman, Advance staff and former participant

Radix

“Before I knew the Radix program, I did not make disciples to make disciples of Jesus. I just made people come to church and go without teaching them how to make disciples.” — Pastor Jackson Mollel, Tanzania

Global training

“We were invited to attend another cross-cultural training in La Ceiba, Honduras. I decided to attend that training, and we learned a lot about sharing the gospel to the ends of the earth. It was also during a prayer for the Asian countries that God showed me and called me to serve in Thailand.” — Fernando Valencia, EMM worker from Peru

If you would like to support EMM’s work of training, we invite you to join us by partnering financially. We encourage you to make a gift to EMM’s Impact Fund by December 31. Thank you for your continued generosity!
