In the 11 countries that make up the geographic region of Southeast Asia, there are more than 680 million people! The Joshua Project estimates that nearly 53 percent of the people in this region would be identified as “unreached.” They define this term as “a people group among which there is no indigenous community of believing Christians with adequate numbers and resources to evangelize this people group without outside assistance.”
David W. Shenk, 85, of Lititz, Pa., went to be with the Lord on January 31, 2023. David was an ambassador of Christ’s peace who devoted his life to serving God through missions and the church.
When I share with congregations because of my role at EMM, I often say that Jesus came not to launch just a “church,” but rather a “movement.” This movement He called the “Kingdom of God” and, as He taught in more than one way, it was meant to grow exponentially as generational disciple making takes place.
Our mandate as a mission agency is to take the gospel across cultures, especially into areas that are least reached. We want to see all believers — everyone — moving in mission.
