Video Editor with Christian-Muslim Relations Team
Every EMM worker’s primary focus is to make disciples of Jesus. This internship will support the Christian-Muslim Relations Team (CMRT) in its mission of equipping Christians for their interactions with Muslims. The CMRT seeks a video editor to create storytelling resources.
The successful candidate will be a student or professional 18 years or older, with some experience in video editing, filmmaking, and video production (will be asked to present samples of their work). Basic video editing will be required. We are looking for someone passionate about visual storytelling!
Background
The first gathering of Peacemaking Confessing Christ International (PCCI) partners and interviews conducted in Ethiopia in 2019 led to the creation of the PCCI website (https://pcci.team/). The PCCI Kenya 2024 gathering offered an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of PCCI ministry partners.
Responsibilites
Participate in the life of the CMRT in making disciples of Jesus, while serving:
- Produce five videos from video archive of footage
- Edit videos for use on PCCI website and other CMRT needs.
- Complete additional tasks related to still images

- Come alongside CMRT team members in their ministry preparations and take advantage of opportunities to observe and apply principles for engaging Muslims in life-giving ways and witness-bearing ways.
Environment
Halle is a mid-sized city in Eastern Germany which, up until the recent waves of immigration, reflected a mostly post-communist culture. The team and church work in the inner city, where there is a rapidly growing mix of international residents among what was predominantly an ethnically German population. The religious tone of the area is mostly atheistic and agnostic, with a small percentage of Christians and a growing number of Muslims and devotees of other religions. Current events are rapidly changing the demographics of Germany.
Supervisors and colleagues
The mission intern will work with EMM’s Christian-Muslim Relations Team, which is led by Jonathan Bornman. A mentor will be assigned to provide oversight and accountability to the intern.
Skills and experience
Experience with video editing, communications, and videography is required. Applicants should enjoy working behind the scenes, in detailed and technical tasks. Sensitive and secure communication about CMRT work is essential due to the nature of the work.
Length of Service
2 months (Fall 2024 or Winter/Spring 2025)
Training
Interns will engage in one week of Launch discipleship mission training. Along with Launch, interns will participate in at least three self-study modules and will be assigned an internship mentor. Interns will have an orientation to their assignment and community.
College credit/internship requirements
EMM will work with each intern and their college to ensure that college internship requirements are met.
Funding and Compensation
Mission interns are offered a stipend of up to $1,500 per month that is covered through the combination of CMRT funds and contributions from their church community. Upon approval, a letter will be sent to the intern’s church to invite them into this process. If housing is needed, EMM will work with the intern and their church community to explore options.
